The results of our ballot for industrial action against the University Leadership Team’s ongoing plans for compulsory redundancies are now in. The results are remarkable, given it was a postal ballot and open for just three weeks during August – with ballot papers in a large number of cases being sent to UCU members’ work addresses.
The Leicester UCU Branch Committee will meet on this Weds, 5th September to consider our next steps in view of this clear-cut strike mandate and the progress made to date in our negotiations with ULT. Please expect an update at the end of this week.
And an important diary date for everyone: there will be an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) for all members on the compulsory redundancies dispute from 12.15 to 1.45 on Thurs, 20 September (Ken Edwards Lecture Theatre 1).
