The second day of strike action is often the first test of a union’s resolve, and our members as always did not let us down. In bitterly cold temperatures members and our supporters turned out. Today we estimated that we had around 80-100 staff and supporters on our picket lines which started bright and breezy at 7.30am. We were still going strong at lunch time.
Once again our picket lines were a place of chatting, noise and fun. More than what we are sure can be said about the university at the moment.
Plenty more chalk art!
And we were delighted to receive support from local unions including DMU UCU and Unite Community!
And the cow bell was back!
